What personal data is collected and why it’s collected

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, the data shown in the comments form as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string are collected in order to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from the visitor’s email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if it is in use. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of their comment, the visitor’s profile picture is visible to the public in the context of their comment.

Cookies

When leaving a comment on freyasalsbury.com, one may opt-in to saving their name, email address and/or website in cookies. This is so that they do not have to fill in their details again when leaving another comment. These cookies last for one year.
